Since 2006, New England Dyslexia has been providing expert help for neurodivergent clients struggling with Dyslexia. Who it helps... This program is designed for visual-spatial thinkers—children (typically age 8+) through adults—who find reading, writing, spelling, or comprehension challenging. Often creative, intelligent, and curious, they’ve tried conventional methods without success. We understand how their minds actually work. For many clients, coming through the doors of New England Dyslexia has been the first time they feel truly seen and understood. Why Davis Resonates so much... Davis® was developed by Ron Davis—profoundly dyslexic himself—to help people like him and changing the paradigm of what Dyslexia is: a unique thinking style shared by neurodivergent learners. His breakthrough method recognizes dyslexia as a gifted difference, not a deficit. The Davis Mastery for Dyslexia program empowers learners to tap into their natural strengths—visual thinking, creativity, hands-on learning—to overcome barriers. Key Components: Orientation Counseling and Symbol/Word Mastery Clients are taught to recognize and regulate states of mental disorientation that cause misreading, loss of focus, and confusion. Using mental or kinesthetic tools, they learn to “orient” themselves—and instantly improve clarity and control. Using Davis' signature clay modeling, clients model letters, punctuation, and symbols in clay to resolve confusion and build perceptual accuracy. Trigger Word Modeling: Clients then use clay to model the trigger words--the short abstract words, frequently encountered in reading, such as and, the, to, or it.
These words cause problems when dyslexic students cannot form a mental picture to go along with them. Through Symbol Mastery, the student makes a three-dimensional clay model of the meaning of each word, together with a model of the letters of the words, transforming abstract words into concrete mental images that stick. With this approach, learning is permanent.

Do you need a Dyslexia Specialist? 5 ways to know...Three Steps to Easier ReadingNew England Dyslexia Solutions clients are also provided with the Davis® Reading Exercises, as outlined in the "Three Steps to Easier Reading" chapter of The Gift of Dyslexia.
Because dyslexics tend to look at words as objects, they become prone to identifying words by their shape, rather than "sounding out" the letters within them. These reading exercises provide clients with fundamental skills that create certainty and prevent guessing. The Spell Reading, Sweep-Sweep-Spell, and Picture at Punctuation exercises were designed to improve left-right eye tracking, recognition of letter groups as words, and comprehension.
